I live in San Francisco. Can my dog board with Far Fetched Acres?

At this time, we are only able to accommodate dogs from New York City.

Okay, but what if I live in Upstate NY?

Sorry! We currently accept only New York City dogs. While we wish we could meet every pup, we have limited space and prioritize pups who don’t have the ability to stretch their legs regularly in Upstate NY.

My dog is over the cut-off New Camper age of 10 years old. Am I still able to send him to camp?

Sorry! For the safety and health of your dog, we only work with senior dogs we have a rich history with.

Where does my dog play?

The short answer: EVERYWHERE! Far Fetched Acres was designed to be the ultimate dog getaway. From outdoor play areas to indoor spaces, your pup will definitely get their zoomies out! Set on 127 acres, there are fields and woods galore for endless fun. Our securely fenced runs and double gates offer hours of supervised off-leash play and enjoyment. Oh, did we mention the pond?

Should I be concerned about fleas, ticks, and internal parasites?

While we do our best to monitor your pup for signs of parasites, we are located in Upstate NY, where fleas, ticks, and giardia are common. As with any outdoor environment, there are risks. Please ensure your dog is treated with preventive care and properly vaccinated before arriving. This helps us maintain a comprehensive system of health checks, minimizing risks for your pup.

How can I check in on my dog while at camp?

We post photos of our campers daily on Snapfish and Instagram @farfetchedacres.

How do I book a stay for my dog?

If your dog is a new camper, please visit our New Camper Registration page to schedule a trial visit. Returning campers can sign in to Gingr here.

We recommend giving us as much notice as possible. While last-minute bookings are usually possible, we have a 72-hour advance notice policy during off-peak times. For peak periods, please provide 5 days' notice. Holidays fill up quickly, so be sure to book early!

What is a Trial Visit?

All new campers must complete a 3-day Trial Visit to ensure camp is a good fit for them. This visit allows us to:

  • Get to know their play style, personality, and preferences

  • Help them adjust to our routine in a relaxed setting

  • Ensure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable in our care

Trial Visits are scheduled from Monday night to Thursday morning during off-peak times. Once you submit your reservation request, we'll review your registration, check availability, and confirm your booking. Be sure to include your preferred dates and any special service requests.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a 50% deposit is required at booking and applied to your total cost. The remaining balance is due at check-out.
Once your reservation is approved, you'll receive a deposit prompt email to secure your booking. Deposits must be paid before arrival for transportation coordination.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • 30+ days before check-in: Full deposit refunded

  • Less than 7 days before check-in: Deposit is non-refundable

  • Off-Peak:

    • 14–29 days before check-in: Full deposit refunded

    • 7–13 days before check-in: Deposit credited toward a future booking

  • Peak and High Peak:

    • 7–21 days before check-in: Full deposit credited toward a future booking

When are pick-up and drop-off days?

For complimentary pick-up and drop-off, we assign a 1-hour window in advance. The general schedule is from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate specific time requests for the complimentary service. Custom pick-up is available for an additional fee, coordinated on an as-needed basis, seven days a week.

Can I visit Far Fetched Acres before my dog comes to visit?

Yes, you are welcome to visit Far Fetched Acres before deciding to board your dog with us. Please contact us to schedule a visit. We’ll work your visit around the exercise and nap schedule of our current guests.

What should my dog bring to Far Fetched Acres?

Please bring your dog’s food, collar, and leash. If your dog takes medication, please bring that too. Feel free to send along a t-shirt or special treats.

My dog prefers not to be with other dogs. Is Far Fetched Acres a good match?

If your dog does not regularly socialize with other dogs, we believe Far Fetched Acres may be overwhelming for them. This is a very social environment, and a pet sitter might be a better solution for your dog.

My dog is nervous around people. Is Far Fetched Acres a good match?

We want all campers to feel safe and confident in our care. We MUST touch, groom, and handle our campers daily for their safety and health. If your dog is nervous around people and prefers not to be touched, we believe our boarding environment may be overwhelming for them.

My dog is in/near heat. Is Far Fetched Acres a good match?

We accept unaltered females outside of their heat cycles, but we cannot accommodate female dogs in heat. If a dog enters heat while staying with us, we will isolate them from other dogs, and they may incur additional care charges. Their scent can affect the camp's energy and may lead to scuffles or increased physical contact. If your dog shows signs of entering heat before their visit, please monitor them and notify us in advance to cancel your reservation if needed.
